What is a timed road rally?
A timed road rally, also known as a Time-Speed-Distance (TSD) rally, is a motorsport where competitors race to arrive at checkpoints on time. The goal is to maintain a specified average speed and arrive at each checkpoint at the correct time.

How it works

  • Competitors are given a route and instructions on how fast to drive
  • Teams start at different times, usually one minute apart
  • Each leg of the rally is scored separately
  • Competitors are penalized for arriving too early or too late at a checkpoint
  • The team with the lowest score wins
