2026 Fall Tour, Sunday October 18, 2026 – Planes, Trains, and Automobiles!

This year’s Fall Tour is still very much a work in progress, but here are the details that are available so far.

In keeping with the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, this year’s Fall Tour is a celebration of three major transportation technologies, the theme being Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. Inspiration for the theme was drawn from the movie of the same name, starring John Candy and Steve Martin. First shown in theaters in 1987, it has quickly become somewhat of a Thanksgiving viewing tradition. The National Warplane Museum is providing the Planes, The Arcade and Attica Railroad is providing the Trains, and we are providing our cars for the Automobiles!

The date is set for Sunday, October 18th. We need to be at the Attica Railroad no later than 10:00AM for our 10:30 AM departure. Tickets will be held at the Railroad for pickup. We currently have one 72 person railcar reserved, with overflow going on a second 72 person car.

Following the train ride, we will take a leisurely 90 minute ride ride from Arcade, back to Geneseo, arriving ~ 2:30 PM where we will take a 1 hour tour of the National Warplane Museum.

Following the Museum, it will be a short 30 minute ride to our final destination for food and drink, the details of which I am still working on.

Route details have not been worked out yet. There may be a group tour to the Railroad in the morning, or we may start there and have the route on the way back to the Geneseo. It will depend on the logistics of getting there with a large group of 40+ cars being a real possibility.

Arcade and Attica Railroad

Step back in time aboard the last operating steam train excursion in New York State.

We’re an authentic short line railroad with the distinction of being one of the last “common carriers” — running freight and passenger trains weekly.

Your journey aboard the Arcade & Attica Railroad begins before you even board the train. As you enter the historic station, you are surrounded by the history of railroading in America. Tour our historic station and view all the exhibits, from antique railroad lanterns to switch locks and even an old switch stand. Nostalgic original photographs depict an era of days gone by. Next, you pass our authentic ticket office, where the ticket master will be glad to sell you tickets for the day’s train trip. Tour our small gift shop and snack bar while waiting to board your train. With an “all aboard,” the whistle blows, and the whoosh of the air brakes releasing can be heard. Very soon, the engineer gets the train up to speed and you are on your way, enjoying your 90-plus-minute ride through history. Along the way, you will see a few glimpses of the modern day; for the most part, though, the trip is through the countryside and farmlands that have remained virtually unchanged since the line was originally laid in the 1880s.

Cost is $23 Per Person, however if you have paid your dues by February 15th, your cost will be $20 per person. (Note you do not need to purchase the train tickets by the 15th, only your dues need to be current). The ability to buy the tickets is now live, and we encourage all those who want to attend to purchase them as soon as possible to reimburse the club quickly. If you are unsure if you paid your dues or not, there is a link on the main landing page where you can do so.

National Warplane Museum

The Museum’s roots trace back to the early 1980s, when a small group of passionate warbird enthusiasts began gathering vintage military aircraft on Geneseo’s grass runways. What started as a handful of warbirds in a farm field soon gained national attention, particularly with the renowned B-17 bomber gatherings of the early 1990s. Unlike static museums, the National Warplane Museum actively maintains and operates many of its historic aircraft and vehicles. The crown jewel of the collection, C‑47A Whiskey 7, led the second wave of paratrooper drops on D-Day — a fully restored and operational flying artifact that still participates in flight demonstrations today. The Museum’s collection continues to grow, now including rare warbirds like the Antonov An‑2R Colt, the Douglas B‑23 Dragon, and a fleet of fully restored WWII-era military vehicles. The museum is also known for their annual Air Show, which attracts a large number of vintage warbirds from across the US and Canada. The cost is an $8.00 donation per person, payable at the museum.
